BARBARA, PANGASINAN - As the year starts, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1) conducted Consultation and Planning Workshop for FY 2022-2023 Programs, Projects, and Activities with Agriculture and Fisheries Extension (AFE) Stakeholders on February 24, 2022.
As we experienced health and food shortages during the height of the COVID 19 pandemic, the Department of Agriculture (DA) has taken the lead in promoting the “Plant, Plant, Plant Program”, in line with the nationwide implementation of the “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa Covid-19.” The ALPAS aimed to raise the level of food sufficiency in the country during the pandemic.
To help the farming communities achieve increased productivity and income, the Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1) has strengthened the adoption of Rice-Based Integrated Farming System (RBIFS) in rice farming areas in Region 1.
To assess the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Rice Extension Services Program (RCEF-RESP) implementation in the region, Inter-Agency Meeting and Implementation Workshop for RCEF-RESP was conducted last November 23, 2021 via Zoom wherein a total of 55 partner agencies, and Learning Site for Agriculture/Farm School Representatives joined the said meeting.

The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 conducted Training on Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards on November 3-5, 2021 at ATI-RTC 1 Satellite Training Center, Brgy. Tabug, City of Batac, Ilocos Norte.
With the general aim to capacitate AEWs from LGUs on RCM Advisory Services and ultimately provide printed recommendations to farmers on their rice production the Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center 1 conducted Training on Rice Crop Manager-Advisory Service (RCM-AS) on September 20-24, 2021 via Zoom.
Two (2) batches of the Training of Trainers on Digital Agriculture Course for RCEF were successfully conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) through the Information Services Section (ISS) on October 19-21, 2021 and October 25-27, 2021 via Zoom.
