In its 34th year, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) grows further in its mission to empower agriculture and fishery stakeholders through quality training and advisory services as the sector continues to survive, reboot, and grow despite challenges.

With the theme “ATI @ 34 LEADS in Mobilizing & Empowering Partners & Communities Towards One DA”, the Institute underscores its commitment as the lead agency for extension to the key strategies of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in steering agri-fishery growth and transformation this 2021.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Efforts to develop policies on agricultural and fisheries extension (AFE) are now being re-shaped to ensure the continued growth of farming and fishing communities even in the new normal.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), through its Policy and Planning Division (PPD), has drawn up priorities in terms of enhancing AFE-related policies and standards to continue to address the needs of farmers, fishers, and agricultural extension workers (AEWs) in the country.

DILIMAN, Quezon City— Some 13 extension education professionals from the United States (US) recently came to the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) to learn more about the different extension initiatives of the Philippine Government for the agriculture and fisheries sector. The visit was part of the International Extension Professional Development Program hosted by the University of the Philippines-Los Baños through the Office of International Linkages.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Director Alfredo Aton urged the heads of all training centers, divisions, and units to step up the Institute’s extension services for farmers, fishers, and other stakeholders.

This was his message as he presented the ATI thrusts for 2020 onwards during the FY 2019 Annual Performance Review and FY 2020 Commitment Signing. In his presentation, Aton gave new strategic, operational, and administrative policy directions for the ATI network.
