Planting Rice in the Time of COVID-19: RCEF FFS on Rice Production in Kalinga Yields 550 Farmer Graduates

TABUK CITY, KALINGA. The Farmers Field Schools (FFS) on rice production for Kalinga launched on February 2020 under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) was finally concluded on July 2020 with 550 farmer graduates amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The graduates of this dry season FFS are from the municipality of Rizal with 100 graduates from four batches, and Tabuk City with 450 graduates from 18 batches.

ATI RTC 12 participates in TESDA Training Induction Program for FFS

TACURONG CITY- The ATI-RTC 12 through its RCEF Program joined TESDA 12 in the conduct of Training Induction Program (TIP) as part of the requirements before the take-off of Modified Farmer’s Field School in Region 12.

One of the main components under the Rice Extension Services Program (RESP) is the development and implementation of a scholarship program. Through this, rice farmers will be given scholarship slots for the Modified FFS on Modernized Production of High Quality Inbred Rice and Seed Certification, helping them increase
their income and competitiveness.

ATI Regional Training Center 12, TESDA Region 12 Hold Series of Consultations on RCEF

KIDAPAWAN CITY- To harmonize the implementation of Rice Extension Services Program (RESP) under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) in the Region, the ATI-RTC 12 organized a series of consultation meetings along with the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Region 12.

Four consultation meetings were conducted across the region. For South Cotabato Province, it was held last July 9, 2020 at ATI-RTC 12, San Felipe, Tantangan. The day after was the consultation for Sarangani and Gensan held at Envirogreen Village Educational Foundation, Inc.

DA, TESDA partner to intensify farmers’ trainings, urban agri

With the pressing demand to boost food production, the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) are joining efforts to conduct more trainings to further enhance the skills and know-how of farmers and farmworkers under the “new normal” era in agricultural production, and food value chain.

RCEF Implementing Agencies to Partner with SUCs

DILIMAN, Quezon City—The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) gathered some 30 representatives from state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the country for a consultative meeting on the implementation of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).

The meeting aims to orient SUC officials on their possible role as partners in RCEF program implementation. In her message, Officer-in-Charge Assistant Director Rosana Mula encouraged them to communicate openly to come up with the best partnership initiatives for RCEF.
