Young Farmers to Begin New Journey after Training in Japan

DILIMAN, Quezon City—After his 11-month on-farm training through the Young Filipino Farm Leaders’ Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ), John Paul Cabangal, from Region XII, is now ready to adopt a science-based method of farming which he learned from his Japanese farmer-mentor.

Cabangal, who leads the 2018 batch of the YFFLTPJ as president, spoke about this during the assessment and post-evaluation activity facilitated for them by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

YFFLTPJ Alumni Showcase Farming Practices to Japanese Partners

LUZON, Philippines—Former trainees of the Young Filipino Farm Leaders’ Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ) took the opportunity to express their gratitude and showcase their farming practices to Japanese officials and farmers who helped them improve their skills.

This was during the monitoring visit of Japan Agricultural Exchange Council (JAEC) officials, together with Japanese farmers who serve as host families to YFFLTPJ trainees.

YFFTPJ Batch 2018 Thank Mentors for Learning, Support

DILIMAN, Quezon City—The 21 young farmers who are part of the 2018 batch of Young Filipino Farmers’ Training Program in Japan (YFFTPJ) expressed their gratitude for their teachers and mentors for enhancing their knowledge, attitude, and skills in preparation for the 11-month training program in Japan.

In the closing ceremony of the Pre-Departure Orientation Course (PDOC), the participants of the 2018 YFFTPJ took the opportunity to thank the people involved in making their 75-day preparatory training a success.

18 Young Farmers Complete Training in Japan

DILIMAN, Quezon City–Equipped with new knowledge and skills in farming, 18 young Filipino farmers are now ready to blaze the trail in agriculture after an intensive 11-month training with Japanese host farmers.

These young farmers comprise Batch 2017 of the Young Filipino Farmers’ Training Program in Japan (YFFTPJ), which the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) implements in partnership with Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and Japan Agricultural Exchange Council.

Preparatory Course for 2018 YFFTPJ Kicks Off

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Twenty three young farmers from all over the country are now gearing up for an intensive 11-month on-farm training in Japan.

As part of the Young Filipino Farmers’ Training Program in Japan (YFFTPJ), these individuals will be given the opportunity to enhance their farming skills and gain new knowledge on different technologies in agriculture.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), as the implementer of the program, welcomed this year’s batch of trainees as the Pre-departure Orientation Course (PDOC) officially kicked off.

Young Farmers Get Certified on Organic Agriculture Production

MAJAYJAY, Laguna – Twenty young farmers of the 2016 batch of the Young Filipino Farmers’ Training Program in Japan (YFFTPJ) passed with flying colors the latest Enhancement and Assessment on Organic Agriculture (OA) Production National Certificate II (NC II).

The training, conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in cooperation with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), was held as part of the Institute’s efforts to continually capacitate these young farmers even after their 11-month training in Japan.

With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
