The Techno Gabay Program (TGP), institutionalized in ATI in 2012, was identified as one of the extension modalities of the Institute. It aims to bring science-based information and technology services to the end-users in the agriculture, aquatic, forestry, and natural resources sectors. The Farmer Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center, being one of the major components of the TGP, is the direct link of the institution to the grassroots.
The Techno Gabay Awards are given to an individual or agency in recognition of the recipients’ significant contribution to the attainment of the TGP objectives. ATI through its regional training centers would like to honor and recognize the contribution of;
Farmer Information and Technology Services (FITS) or Techno Pinoy Centers for their consistently dedicated performance and technology promotion; and
Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) as an umbrella organization of the Rural Based Organization (RBO) of ATI whose exemplary performance and commitment has strengthened the link between the information and technology service providers and target beneficiaries.
This activity provides venue to assess the performance and services of FITS Centers in lieu of information dissemination and technology promotion. As such, the participants can extend recommendations to enhance the existing services, and acquire good practices thru visitations to other successful FITS Centers and MS farm/selected learning site.
