Nature’s Hidden Treasure: Growing Mushroom Commercially

Terminal Objective:

The activity aims to encourage educators and young generations to engage in organic farming.

Enabling Objective:

Specifically, at the end of the activity, the participants shall have:

  1. Cited what mushrooms are, how mushroom culture started in the Philippines, and the common varieties of mushrooms grown in the country;
  2. Identified cultural practices of growing straw mushrooms from establishment of backyard production to planting and harvesting;
  3. Identified basic points to consider in caring and managing straw mushrooms;
  4. Computed the profitability of growing straw mushrooms using profitability ratios as measuring tool; and
  5. Prepared action plan to start the business.

Target Participants: 30 Farmers/AEWs/Teachers

Note: Participants are required to finish the online course on Mushroom Production (www.e-extension.gov.ph/elearning) before the conduct of the training. He/She is also expected to be at the Center on the afternoon of March 5, 2018 for the opening program.
