An assessment study was conducted to assess the concept, implementation, and result of the Extension Service Providers (ESP) accreditation program. This step was also made to help improve the program’s management. Results suggested that there is a mutual benefit between the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and ESPs.
ESP accreditation gave ATI a framework in aligning and improving the Institute’s and the private sector extension programs and services cascaded to the clientele. Through the program, the accredited ESPs were recognized for their efforts in delivering extension interventions and securing partnerships and linkages with other Department of Agriculture offices, non-government organizations, state universities and colleges, local government units, and other private entities as well.
Further details of this evaluation study conducted by ATI and Dr. Filma Calalo of the University of the Philippines Los Baños are in this Policy Brief.
