DILIMAN, Quezon City—Bukidnon-based agripreneur Nick Jay Arr Engallado continues to bring rice production and processing up a notch with another product innovation in the offing.

In a radio interview, Engallado revealed a new product line is coming to add to an already wide variety of rice-based products from Engallado’s Nature Farm and Natural Food Products located in Brgy. Tongantongan, Valencia City. Some of their most sought-after products are barquirice, rice buttons, rice cookies, rice coffee blends, piaya, and merengue.

LIPA, Batangas—Kahariam Farms and Realty, Inc. (KFRI) is offering an alternative way in farming with the use of black soldier fly for conversion of organic waste material.

This is the farm’s latest technology that is seen to help waste management and provide sustainable means of producing chemical-free animal feeds.

In a media forum facilitated by Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON last January 23, KFRI introduced the black soldier fly technology to representatives of the local media and some of the Institute’s partner bloggers for organic agriculture (OA).

From Devastation to Sustainable Production

Upland barangays of Ormoc City is no stranger to calamities. They experienced loss of livelihood when their abaca plants where eradicated due to “bugtok”. Then came financial losses due to typhoons, foremost of which, was Yolanda. The losses were not only to production but also to soil fertility, which contributed to the low market value of products.
