RIC, P4MP Officers Further Empowered to Lead Communities

MINDANAO, Philippines—The role of rural-based organizations in boosting community advancement is continuously recognized in the agriculture and fisheries sector.

With this, Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted a series of capacity enhancement training programs for the regional presidents of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) and of the Pambansang Mannalon-Maguuma-Magbabaul-Magsasaka ng Pilipinas (P4MP).

SAN ILDEFONSO, Bulacan – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), together with members of Rural Improvement Clubs from various regions in the Philippines celebrated the last hurrah of the Women in Agriculture Symposium through a farm tour at Duran Farm on March 3, 2017.

The 53 participants were briefed and toured by the owner herself, Desiree Duran. Starting off with an orientation, Duran shared how she started farming, which has proven to give inspiration to other women farmers.

Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves.
