DILIMAN, Quezon City—Top rice producers in the country were recognized in the 2019 Rice Achievers Awards in a small ceremony held at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management Convention Hall in Quezon City, November 27.

Ten provinces received awards with cash prize worth Php4 million each during the ceremony. Meanwhile, members of 10 National and Communal Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) and six Small Water Irrigation Systems Associations (SWISA) received their awards with cash prize worth Php1 million each.

ATI Training Centers Kick Off NRAM 2020 with Free Webinar Series

As it joins the nationwide call to “Grow Local. Buy local. Eat local. #SupportOurRiceFarmers” in celebration of the National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) this November, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) brings its extension services to a new level to reach more farmers and consumers in the country.

With the “new normal” protocols requiring less physical contact, the ATI used online media to drum up collective support for Filipino rice farmers, particularly to encourage stakeholders to buy local harvests at a reasonable price and patronize locally produced rice.

Call to Support Local Produce, Farmers Headlines NRAM 2020

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) joins the nation in celebrating the National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) this November with the message “Grow local. Buy local. Eat local. #SupportourRiceFarmers”.

The celebration of NRAM for this year follows up last year’s campaign, this time underscoring not only marketing and consumption, but also the production of local rice. It encourages various rice stakeholders to support Filipino farmers especially in buying their harvests at a reasonable price; and the rice-consuming public to patronize locally produced rice.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) showed its support to the 2019 National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) celebration with activities that are linked with this year's theme "Eat Local, Buy Local. Support our Rice Farmers."

ATI kicked off its NRAM activities last November 4 with an exhibit of rice and rice-based products from partner-farmers from different regions in the country. These were supported with banners and standees showcasing rice-related facts and messages towards the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund.
