The Department of Agriculture (DA), its bureaus, regional field offices, attached agencies, and corporations nationwide are resuming full operations, starting Monday, May 4, 2020, as part of the government’s efforts to gradually phase into the “new normal,” amid the implementation of enhanced or general community quarantine in the country.
Agriculture Secretary William Dar continues to encourage local chief executives (LCEs) to buy from farmers and fishers their products — vegetables, fruits, chicken, hogs, and fish, among others — and include these in relief food packs distributed to constituents.
“By doing so, we help our farmers and fishers earn and make a decent living amid the challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Secretary Dar, who previously asked the LCEs to consider the said initiative in mid-March, when President Rodrigo Duterte imposed the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Well, apologies too to readers that I started this blogpost a little bit of drama (hehehe). Just allow me please to say the least.

Though, I only have a handful of entries here but those were experiences that touched my being.
With the extension of the enhanced community quarantine, now is as good a time as any to expand one’s knowledge and try other ventures such as farming. Through the “e-Learning for Agriculture and Fisheries” of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), this is possible for thousands of Filipinos without having to leave their own homes.
Launched in 2007, e-Learning is a component of the e-Extension Program of ATI, the training and extension arm of the Department of Agriculture (DA). The program offers alternative means of gaining new knowledge about farming for free.
A total of 88,065 bags of rice have been released by the National Food Authority (NFA) to the local government units of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) from March 14 to date.
This is according to the National Food Authority (NFA) North District Office in Valenzuela City during the weekly inspection of Agriculture Secretary William Dar on April 14, 2020.
BAGUIO CITY - The implementation of the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to the COVID-19 pandemic is not all bad news.
The bad things of the on-going crisis are one side of the coin. The crisis also brings on many good things beaming with hope at the end of the tunnel.
For instance, the current health crisis created a need for local farmers to sell highland produce to needful communities in Metro Manila and other urban areas.
