Former Agri Official Promotes Opportunities in Cassava

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Because of its ability to thrive even in the most unfavorable conditions, cassava is now seen not only as a major staple food but also as a food security crop.

Luzon Coordinators Briefed on Revised Corn, Cassava Awards Guidelines

DILIMAN, Quezon City—The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continue to recognize top performers in the corn and cassava industries through the annual National Quality Corn Achievers Award (NQCAA), Cassava Cluster Management Excellence Awards (CCMEA), and Cornucopia.

As a result of the assessment of last year’s activities including the desk evaluation, field validation, and awarding ceremony, revisions in the Search’s guidelines were recently released to the regional search committee of the NQCAA and CCMEA.

With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture.
