DA, TESDA partner to intensify farmers’ trainings, urban agri

With the pressing demand to boost food production, the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) are joining efforts to conduct more trainings to further enhance the skills and know-how of farmers and farmworkers under the “new normal” era in agricultural production, and food value chain.

DA’s “Plant, Plant, Plant Program” to benefit All Farmers, Fishers, Consumers Nationwide

The Department of Agriculture (DA) will implement nationwide the Duterte administration’s “Plant, Plant, Plant Program” or “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa Covid-19” program to benefit farmers, fishers and consumers.

“The ‘Plant, Plant, Plant Program’ will be implemented not only in Luzon, where the Enhanced Community Quarantine is being enforced, but also in Visayas and Mindanao,” said Agriculture Secretary William Dar.

Backyard Gardening to Secure Every Household’s Food Source

As the whole nation is battling a pandemic brought about by the coronavirus disease, ensuring food availability for every Filipino is among the top things that need to be secured.

With the said task at hand, the Department of Agriculture has been looking into ways to ensure that food production in the country continues.

In the region, one initiative taken by the Department of Agriculture – Caraga through the High Value Crops Program (HVCDP) is the distribution of vegetable seeds to walk in clients who want to engage in vegetable gardening.
