The Bureau of Agricultural Research published this book to: raise the profile of Palayamanan among farmers, communities, and local governments; document the process of bringing Palayaman to the communities more effectively; share the newly developed sustainable pest management options for popular vegetables like tomatoes, eggplants, crucifiers, and onions for adaptation or adoption by farmers;

The declining fisheries, loss of coastal habitats, and the disruption in environmental services prompted establishment of marine protected areas in the Philippines. As such, the Department of Agriculture through the Project Management Office of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources implemented a project called the Fisheries Resource Management Project (FRMP) in 18 priority bays.

Major Field Practice is among the requirements of the course Bachelor of Science in Agriculture of the University of Southern Mindanao. In this line, Kenne Cabrillos, a Horticulture major and a scholar of the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) Young Agriculture Farmers Program, did his major field practice at Mehadrin Tnuport Export Ashqelon in Israel.

Landcare is among the approaches that researchers like the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) have identified to help solve problems such as soil erosion and acidity, as well as maintain the livelihoods of farmers.

The current problem on drought stress to some parts of the country served as a springboard in the evaluation of bush snap bean varieties that could withstand drought conditions.

The purpose of this publication, "Global Review of Good Agricultural Extension and Advisory Service Practices" is to identify good practices within the different agricultural extension and advisory service institutions that have implemented the use of new agricultural innovations in improving rural livelihoods and in educating farmers.
