Common Framework on Agricultural Extension

Posted by:

This Common Framework on Agricultural Extension is a product of an informal group of representatives of bilateral and multilateral cooperation agencies and institutions from Sub-Saharan Africa countries that are involved in agricultural development.

It was published under the Neuchatel Initiative – a group composed of representatives from Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in Neuchatel, GTZ, USAID, DfID, Danida, MAE, Sida, DGIS, FAO, IFAD, ECC/DGVIII, CTA, and the World Bank. The initiative seeks to establish a basis for better applying various case studies and joint reflections in extension practice.

There are three main topics covered in this publication: The environment of agricultural extension is changing; A new approach to extension is needed; and Proposed commitments by co-operation agencies.

For more details about the contents of the publication, visit the Knowledge Resource Center Agricultural Training Institute in Diliman, Quezon City from 8:00-5:00 during Mondays to Fridays, except holidays.

ATI Today

Extension services continue to evolve. With the challenges that extension workers and farmers face, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) continues to explore various strategies to improve its efforts as the extension and training arm of the Department of Agriculture. In over 30 years, the ATI has celebrated various successes and learned from the lessons during hard times. Nonetheless, we are proud to be standing the test of time through the support of our partners and the clientele themselves. This is the ATI Today, more committed to bring you extension services beyond boundaries.
