The country’s agriculture sector continues to face a big challenge as farmers are getting old and their children are not taking on agriculture-related careers. However, many young farmers in the countryside are trying to change this by grabbing every chance to improve their skills and sharing their knowledge to others.
Read about the stories of these inspiring young farmers in the latest issue of ACCESS, the official publication of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI). Paul Jhone Dominic Ebon, a former out-of-school youth from Davao City, graces our cover with his story of success in the livestock industry which started with a childhood dream. Now, Ebon serves as mentor to other young farmers and resource person in different training activities. 4-H Club Region III president Ronald Fisco Echon also talks about his experiences during his training in Japan in 2014 which fulfilled many of his dreams and deepened his love for farming.
