I talked recently with my officemate who said that she thinks her nephew has autism but they’ve tried telling the mother to bring her son for check-up but she went ballistic. This is similar to someone close to me who initially refused to accept that her grandson has autism.
I recently gave a talk online about Food Preservation to the Youth members (KADIWA) in our Church. The crowd is quite big because it covers the whole Ecclesiastical District of Misamis Oriental. I embraced the opportunity to reach out to as many young people despite the fact that I am not educationally adept on the topic. Though I may not be an expert, I have their best interests at heart.
They could have taken a pick on where to work and share their talent and skills. They are young, enthusiastic and industrious - qualities that any employer would scramble to hire. But they opted to become agripreneurs. Numeriano “Ted” Quemado III and Edsel James “Bong” Quemado, took the road less travelled.
One of the ATI’s guiding mantra is extension delivery beyond boundaries. Before the pandemic happened, this is easier said than done. There is always a question of turfing or even the limitations and legal ramifications imposed when you literally go beyond your Physical Boundaries. Of course, boundaries could be interpreted not only in the Physical sense as everything is open to interpretation, and for the Commission on Audit, justification.
Many businesses were affected by the pandemic. Many have closed- permanently. But many new businesses have sprouted and succeeded. I intend for our new venture to be one of them.
The Covid-19 Pandemic is totally unexpected. It didn’t just create a detour in our plans but totally erased our plans, forcing us to craft a new one. It has brought down the economy of the world. Personally, our small investment in stocks was greatly affected like all stock markets worldwide. Our stock portfolio has plummeted and I have no idea when it will recover. The pandemic has resulted to deaths and near deaths, of whom some are dear to me.
