Urban Agri Seminar Goes to Valenzuela on DZMM Kapamilya Day

BIGNAY, Valenzuela City—Residents of Disiplina Village in Bignay, Valenzuela City were introduced to farming as one of Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) partner farmers gave a free lecture on urban agriculture during the DZMM Kapamilya Day.

Joel Frago, owner of the ATI Learning Site, Forest Wood Garden, shared his knowledge and experiences in terms of using small available spaces and recyclable containers they have at home to produce organically grown herbs and vegetables. He also discussed the steps in producing herbs and lettuce as well as the use of organic fertilizers.

Farmers Get Info on Mokusaku

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Farmers from different parts of the country were introduced to the Mokusaku technology as the Japan Agricultural Exchange Council (JAEC), in partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), spearheaded an orientation and the establishment of a demonstration facility.

The mokusaku technology facility was established at the ATI Central Office compound. The undertaking was led by JAEC Executive Director Ryoji Sakamoto along with officials from the ATI and the local government units of Tublay and La Trinidad in Benguet.

LGUs, SUCs Elevate Proposal-Writing Skills

CUBAO, Quezon City—It is often said that farmers require continuous training to enhance their farming skills and capabilities. The same can be said for agricultural extension workers as they also need continuous education in their own field to better assist our farmers.

In support to this, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) invited 37 technical staff from local government units (LGUs) and state universities and colleges (SUCs) of Luzon and Visayas to a five-day training on improving proposal-writing skills.

'Pagkain Para sa Masa' Site Launched at ATI

DILIMAN, Quezon City - With the effort to lessen hunger in urban communities, the Department of Agriculture (DA) established the fourth Urban Agriculture-Pagkain Para Sa Masa (UA-PPSM) site at the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) compound.

With the theme 'Sa maliit na espasyo, may pagkain tayo', the UA-PPSM aims to encourage urban poor families to integrate urban farming into their lifestyle. The Department considers this initiative as a step towards reducing the poverty incidence of the country’s growing population.

ATIng Merkado sa SiyuDAd Highlights Local Farm Products

DILIMAN, Quezon City - Farmers' produce from different parts of the country were on showcase as the "ATIng Merkado sa SiyuDAd" opened during the 31st anniversary celebration of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

The two-day activity aims to provide a venue for farmers and fisherfolk to sell their products directly to the public. In turn, consumers will be able to buy fresh, healthy, and affordable food and food products in the most convenient and accessible way.
