Gov’t Agencies Join Forces to Assist Balikbayans

DILIMAN, Quezon City—In line with the national government’s thrust to provide alternative sources of livelihood for returning overseas Filipinos amid the pandemic, the Office of the Agricultural Attaché in Tokyo, Japan conducted an agri-negosyo webinar. 

The virtual event was held for overseas Filipinos from all sectors, particularly displaced and repatriated workers, retirees, young agripreneurs, and hobbyists.

Agri Interns for Taiwan Delve into Google Workspace

DILIMAN, Quezon City—To enhance the digital know-how of the accepted interns for the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program (FYFIP) in Taiwan, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) spearheaded a half-day end-user training on Google Workspace (GWS).

A total of 47 FYFIP interns took part in the activity where they learned the different features and key capabilities of GSW core applications.  

Young Mushroom Grower Uses Storytelling as Digital Marketing Strategy

DILIMAN, Quezon City—A young mushroom grower from Malaybalay, Bukidnon is using storytelling to market their products online.

Edsel James “Bong” Quemado shared that storytelling attracts more customers and, therefore, sees it as key to effective digital marketing in the latest “Agri Asenso” episode on DZRH. This teleradyo program is led by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

During the interview, Quemado said that storytelling brings the focus of the customers on the social impact of the brand or product.

Institutionalization of Social Entrepreneurship Pushed for PH Agriculture

DILIMAN, Quezon City—To accelerate the growth of Philippine agriculture, the Department of Agriculture (DA) has partnered with the Institute for Social Entrepreneurship in Asia (ISEA) to promote social entrepreneurship among farmers, youth, and other stakeholders. 

ISEA is a learning and action network set up by social enterprises and social enterprise resource institutions and scholars to catalyze knowledge creation, capacity development, and movement-building for social entrepreneurship in Asia.
