SOX’s Agri Products, Nature Destinations Showcased in Manila

MAKATI CITY, Metro Manila— The Department of Tourism (DOT) XII recently teamed up with Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Regional Training Center (RTC) XII in promoting the wonders of SOCCSKSARGEN in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Dubbed as the “Treasures of SOX: A Travel and Trade Expo,” the three-day event aimed to encourage people from the Metro to discover what SOCCSKSARGEN, or “Sox”, can offer when it comes to tourism.

ATI Joins in Celebrating Farmers’ and Fisherfolk's Month 2018

With the theme, “Makabagong magsasaka at mangingisdang Pilipino, Susi sa tunay na pagbabago,” the Agricultural Training Institute joins the nation in celebrating this year’s Farmers’ and Fisherfolk's Month.

Spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture, the celebration aims to recognize the invaluable contributions of our farmers and fishers in nation-building. All Filipino agricultural laborers are likewise acknowledged in their efforts towards the advancement of food production in the country.

ASEAN Delegates Undergo Two-Week GAD Training

MANILA, Metro Manila—To address the pressing issue on gender gap in the agriculture sector among Southeast Asian nations, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) spearheaded a training course on improving and mainstreaming gender.

This two-week training, led by the ATI Career Development and Management Division, aims to guide practitioners and technical staff in integrating gender-responsive actions in the design and implementation of their agricultural programs and projects.

Earth Day 2018 Calls to End Plastic Pollution

The Agricultural Training Institute joins the celebration of Earth Day 2018: End Plastic Pollution on April 22.

With the rampant increase in the use of plastics which is evident in our injured marine life, disrupted human hormones, littered beaches, and clogged waste streams and landfills, the survival of the planet is now being threatened.

In this line, Earth Day 2018 is committed to provide information and inspire citizens around the world to fundamentally change their attitude and behavior regarding this issue.

Sen. Villar Underscores Role of Magsasaka Siyentista in Bringing Farmers Out of Poverty

LAS PIÑAS CITY, Metro Manila—The Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (Villar SIPAG), led by Senator Cynthia Villar, encouraged the Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) to steer the farming community towards agripreneurship during a meeting on February 22, 2018.

Stressing the need to promote financial literacy to the stakeholders in the agriculture sector, Villar noted, "Increasing food production and farm productivity alone cannot move them [farmers] out of poverty. We need to focus on capacity-building activities to make entrepreneurs out of farmers."
