ATI to Host 2nd TienDA Farmers and Fisherfolks Outlet, 2nd AgriTalk

DILIMAN, Quezon City – Fill your baskets with a fresh load of farm products this August 17-18, 2017 as the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) opens the second “TienDA Farmers and Fisherfolks Outlet”.

What is TienDA? If you’re familiar with the “farmer’s market” concept, TienDA is the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) version of this kind of marketplace. Simply put, TienDA is a venue for farmers and fishers to be able to directly sell their produce, and for consumers to be able to access these products at its farm gate price.

Free Seminar on Herbs Underscores Wellness, Sustainability

DILIMAN, Quezon City – In the face of today’s growing population, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) takes the opportunity to offer Filipinos more options to attain sustainability through its free seminars.

For July, the ATI, through the Partnerships and Accreditation Division, organized free seminars on Herbs and Spices Production and Processing which raised awareness on the correct medicinal and culinary uses of herbs as well as the farming aspects involved.

Rice Technicians, Machinery Operators, Agricultural Engineers now NC II Holders

ABORLAN, Palawan—The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) recently held a training and assessment activity on rice machinery operations and maintenance. This is through the Institute’s Career Development and Management Division, in partnership with the Western Philippines University (WPU).

The seven-day activity was held in pursuant to Republic Act 10601 or the Agricultural and Fisheries Mechanization (AFMech) Law that mandates ATI to train its beneficiaries on agriculture and fisheries mechanization.

These were some of the things that Dr. Amy Gonzales-Eguia underscored during the Free Seminar on Swine Production and Meat Processing. Dr. Eguia is a Training Specialist of the Agricultural Training Institute’s International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ATI-ITCPH).

A Wider Reach: Bangladeshi Government Officials Visit ATI

This time, to some Bangladeshi government officials headed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Food (MAF) during a briefing-orientation in the Learning and Discovery (LeAD) Center and Agriculture and Fisheries Knowledge Resource Center on May 31, 2017.
