ATI, Smart Team Up for Urban Gardening Web Series

Tips and techniques on backyard gardening are offered on a web series produced by Smart Communications, Inc., in partnership with the Agricultural Training Institute.

Through the online show “Kalye Mabunga,” agriculture enthusiasts and backyard farmers can learn how to plant a variety of backyard crops and herbs, and how to cook these into healthy dishes at home.

Moreover, topics on nutrition, plant growth cycle, and some do-it-yourself agri projects will also be highlighted in different episodes hosted by Emmanuel Angeles of Twenty Manila.

Let children experience farming – ATI

PAYATAS, Quezon City—Officials from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) are calling for communities and households to practice urban agriculture for easy access to nutritious food and to foster the involvement of their children through family farming.

“Urban agriculture also aims to teach nutrition among children and involve them in the practice of family farming especially now that there are no classes in schools,” ATI-Partnerships and Accreditation Division chief Renato Dela Cruz said.

DA’s Urban Agri Project Pushes for Food Security, Enterprise Dev’t

BATASAN HILLS, Quezon City—The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) are pushing for more enterprise development opportunities in support to food security through its Urban Agriculture project.

ATI Officer-in-Charge Assistant Director Rosana Mula had this underscored during the launch of the project and distribution of starter kits under the DA’s “Plant, Plant Plant” Program in Barangay Batasan Hills.

Urban Agri Initiative Reaches Quezon City University

BATASAN HILLS, Quezon City–The Quezon City University (QCU) is now one with the Department of Agriculture (DA) in mainstreaming urban farming among students and faculty members.

Supported by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), QCU launched an urban agriculture project in the Batasan Hills Campus to aid DA in providing more avenues for students to appreciate the value of farming and consider a career in agriculture.
