DILIMAN, Quezon City— To encourage more people to venture into farming as a source of healthy food and income for the family, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) conducted a one-day free seminar on plant propagation and nursery management of horticultural crops.

The first part of the seminar focused on the methods and techniques of plant propagation and effective nursery management as presented by Dr. Danilo Peñira, a retired professor from the Isabela State University. He emphasized the importance of environmental-friendly crop propagation.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) gathered some 30 representatives from state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the country for a consultative meeting on the implementation of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).

The meeting aims to orient SUC officials on their possible role as partners in RCEF program implementation. In her message, Officer-in-Charge Assistant Director Rosana Mula encouraged them to communicate openly to come up with the best partnership initiatives for RCEF.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—With the importance of bees in agriculture and food supply, beekeeping expert Edilee Rosales encouraged more Filipinos to engage in this venture during the first free seminar of the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) this year.

Rosales, owner and general manager of Milea Bee Farm, talked about stingless beekeeping in particular, as well as types of honey-producing bees in the Philippines, maintenance of the beehive, and harvesting of honey.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Director Alfredo Aton urged the heads of all training centers, divisions, and units to step up the Institute’s extension services for farmers, fishers, and other stakeholders.

This was his message as he presented the ATI thrusts for 2020 onwards during the FY 2019 Annual Performance Review and FY 2020 Commitment Signing. In his presentation, Aton gave new strategic, operational, and administrative policy directions for the ATI network.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—To improve its programs, activities, and projects for fiscal year (FY) 2021, Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) officials and planning officers gathered for a week-long evaluation and target-setting activity.

ATI Director Alfredo Aton led the undertaking and stressed that all of the Institute’s initiatives for 2021 should be consistently aligned with Agriculture Secretary William Dar’s “Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita” vision. To attain this, Aton emphasized the need to practice the ease of doing business.
