Aton Sets New Directions for ATI

DILIMAN, Quezon City—New officer-in-charge (OIC) director, Alfredo Aton, sets the tone for the next few years as the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) turns another leaf under his leadership.

In a meeting with ATI division chiefs, Central Office section chiefs, and training center directors, Aton asked for everyone’s cooperation and support in improving the bureau’s programs and services for the stakeholders and the public.

Corn, Cassava Achievers Recognized, Linkages Continue to Strengthen

National Quality Corn Achievers Awards 2018

BUHANGIN, Davao City—The Department of Agriculture (DA) continues to strengthen its ties with local government units (LGUs) and farmers’ groups to boost corn and cassava development as it awards industry achievers nationwide.

In a three-in-one ceremony, DA recognized top-performing LGUs, DA regional offices, and farmers’ organizations. This is through the 6th National Quality Corn Achievers Awards (NQCAA), 2nd Cassava Cluster Management Excellence Awards (CCMEA), and 2nd Cornucopia Awards.

Four New Courses Added to e-Learning’s List

DILIMAN, Quezon City – In line with its goal to empower and build the capacities of its stakeholders, the Agricultural Training Institute continues to develop its e-Learning program for agriculture and fisheries.

In addition to its existing 55 free online courses, four new courses were developed and uploaded to provide the growing number of e-Learners with technical knowledge in growing crops, raising livestock, and in agribusiness.

World Soil Day 2018 is for Fight against Soil Pollution

The Agricultural Training Institute is one with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) in celebrating the World Soil Day (WSD) this December 5.

This year’s celebration of WSD aims to raise awareness and call for people to #StopSoilPollution. These days, pollution continues to be a worry and soil is also affected. While the changes that have made to the planet can be seen, some of the impacts are virtually invisible and soil pollution is a good example.

Boot Camp Refreshes Webmasters on Site Administration

DILIMAN, Quezon City - Webmasters of Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) central and regional offices were refreshed and re-oriented on their functions as administrators in the recently held Drupal 7 End-user Boot Camp for ATI-RTC Webmasters.

A total of 15 webmasters were capacitated to use the functionality of their Drupal administrator account, which includes managing users and content, configuring and updating modules, and site optimization.

ATI Joins Nat’l Movement to Raise Rice Awareness

DILIMAN, Quezon City - The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) showed its support to the National Rice Awareness Month (NRAM) thru several activities this November.

Last November 5, an exhibit was launched at the ATI main lobby which featured products and technologies in rice farming. Among these were traditional rice varieties, alternate wetting and drying technology, rice based products, rice machineries, and the Philippine Rice Information System (PRISM) and Rice Crop Manager (RCM) apps. The said products and technologies were showcased until November 9.
