Partner Farmers Showcase Products, Expertise at AgriLink 2019

Free IEC materials on different farming technologies and commodities were available at ATI's exhibit during AgriLink/FoodLink/AquaLink 2019

PASAY CITY, Metro Manila—Farmers from Central Luzon and CALABARZON were once again front and center at the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) exhibit during AgriLink/FoodLink/AquaLink 2019.

Owners of three Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSAs) and one Extension Service Provider (ESP) joined ATI staff for another year in the said expo to promote farming as a viable and sustainable business venture. These are Eco Natural Integrated Farm in Tarlac; Vilela's Farm and MoCA Family Farming RLearning Center in Batangas; and Forest Wood Garden in Laguna.

Info Caravans on RCEF Services Launched for Farmers, AEWs

Over 6,500 farmers and agricultural extension workers (AEWs) were briefed on the services under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) through a series of information caravans nationwide.

This was led by the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) network of training centers, in close coordination with the regional field offices of the Department of Agriculture and the concerned local government units.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—To impart proper and sustainable ways of fish farming and boost its industry, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) led a free seminar on fish production and processing.

In this event, the potentials of tilapia farming were discussed. Known as the “aquatic chicken” because of its high protein content and lower market price, tilapia has become the second widely cultivated fish species in the country.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) launched “AgriKids: Illustrate, Formulate, and Demonstrate.”

QUEZON CITY, Metro Manila—In response to the declining number of youth interested in farming, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) launched “AgriKids: Illustrate, Formulate, and Demonstrate.”

The project is made possible in partnership with the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation. It aims to promote the importance of agriculture not only to children but also to every Filipino household.

2019 World Food Day Underlines Healthy Food For All

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) expresses its support to the celebration of the World Food Day (WFD) this October 16.

WFD 2019 calls for action across sectors to make healthy and sustainable diets affordable and accessible to everyone. Furthermore, it asks everyone to start thinking about what they eat.

In support to the celebration, agri-exhibits will be held at the Department of Agriculture (DA) grounds on October 14-16. These will feature products from different parts of the country.

DA, ATI to set up entrepreneurship program for the youth

The Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is now on the drawing board for the development of a Youth Agri-Entrepreneurship Program, which aims to encourage the Filipino youth to venture into agriculture.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar, announced during a meeting with the local chief executives of Bicol, that the DA through ATI, will allocate funds to support young farmers to develop their own agricultural enterprise.

Cauayan City is PH's first ever Smart City

CAUAYAN CITY, ISABELA- Despite being positioned in a rural setting, Cauayan City, an agro-industrial hub in Northern Luzon, is now the first ever Smart City in the country.
The concept of Smart City is aimed at making cities future-ready by using latest technologies and innovations to make cities more connected, resilient and digitally enabled. This will support the growth of the city economically and will put them at par.

Learning Sites to Headline ATI Exhibit at AgriLink 2019

Different Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSAs) supported by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) are set to promote their products and services during AgriLink/FoodLink/AquaLink 2019.

The three-day event bears the theme “Climate Resilient Agriculture: A Must for Region 8.” It aims to provide an avenue to showcase products, information, technologies, market linkages, and promotions to the whole agribusiness community and the general public.

Young Farmers Trained to Advance Agripreneurship

METRO MANILA & SOUTH COTABATO—Some young farmer-leaders from different parts of the country are now equipped to advance the agribusiness sector after completing the National Training on Agripreneurship.

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) convened selected regional and provincial officers of the 4-H Club of the Philippines for the said training to further their entrepreneurial skills.

SILANG, Cavite—Two new books promoting Philippine native plants and farm tourism sites were launched by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), through its Regional Training Center (RTC) in CALABARZON.

The books, “Agriculturally Awesome: A Regional Farm Tourism Travel Guide” and “saRiLing ATIn: 25 Promising Native Plants of the Philippines,” were produced through the joint efforts of ATI and its assisted farms in CALABARZON.
