It is not too often that I find myself in the receiving end of ATIs trainings. There were trainings of course that I attended to learn skills or information I need to do tasks assigned or being assigned to me.

There is truth in the saying “there are no inappropriate participants, only inappropriate methodologies”. Training as a human resource intervention may be made light and pleasant. Participants in our training courses are adults and as such they have peculiar characteristics. They have a wealth of experiences, have sense of direction, autonomous, goal oriented, prefers learning for immediate application, and not controllable by traditional classroom rules and regulations.

Going back. Three months have come and gone, seems like a long time but when spent with our daughter, it felt like a speck of a minute. Days pass by quickly as I dreaded the last day of my maternity leave. Although the idea of being a fulltime mom and taking a year (or more) off of work was very tempting, I opted otherwise since providing her needs was top priority. Honestly, I was really anxious going back to the big Metro and work, not for myself but more for our daughter.

When the organic agriculture or OA as other have called it goes into mainstream - this term is neither new nor old to me. I first heard OA 18 years ago (hmm! that doesn't mean I am that old, but at some point of my life - I grow) when I joined in a non-government organization as technical writer cum researcher fresh from college graduation.

I recently attended a fun run which was organized by our church. The turn-out was really phenomenal, if not record breaking. This could be due to the fact that we are known for our unity but it could also be due to the fact that it is an "IN" thing. In fact after the week that we held our “Unity Run” as we called it, two big Fun Run events were again held in Cagayan de Oro. I think that a large part of the popularity lies on the growing health consciousness of the public.

I was amazed by the variety of answers (21 word combinations!) submitted via Facebook. Some were really scholarly guesses like environmental, ecological, economical, extensive, extended, elevated, evolving, entrepreneurial, extraordinary, eco-friendly and exotic. Some were out of this world such as erotic (?), exciting, everything, e-learner’s, excited-much, edong’s, echos and eklavu.
