More Young Farmers Seen to Elevate Phil Agri as Exchange Training Program in Japan Resumes

DILIMAN, Quezon City – Some 14 young farmers rise to the challenge of elevating the country’s agri-fishery sector as the implementation of the Young Filipino Farm Leaders Training Program in Japan (YFFLTPJ) resumed this year.

This is after more than a year of reprograming for this joint initiative of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Japan Agricultural Exchange Council (JAEC), and Japan Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, due to the global pandemic.

AgriKids Video Series Production Now on Phase 2

DILIMAN, Quezon City - As part of the development phase of AgriKids’ video series, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), together with the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), conducted the Knowledge Channel Training in the New Normal (KCTINN). This is the second phase of consultation activities for teacher-representatives from 37 identified schools for the program.

Teachers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao attended a three-day activity composed of two asynchronous sessions and a synchronous assembly via Google Meet.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Biotech Program Office (BPO) and Biotech Coalition of the Philippines (BCP) spearheaded the "Webinar on Pinoy Biotech Crops" on November 17, 2021, as part of the celebration of the 2021 National Biotechnology Week (NBW).

ATI Network Leads TOTs for DAC4RCEF Rollout

Initial batches of the regional training of trainers (TOT) on Digital Agriculture Course under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (DAC4RCEF) went underway this October and November led by the regional training centers (RTCs) of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

ATI Cagayan Valley and Central Visayas started off the activities with their first batches conducted virtually last October 12-14.

This is consistent with the agency’s mandate of professionalizing the AEWs through the implementation of an integrated and ladderized human capital development for public extension services, and adoption of merit, promotion, and incentive system (Section 88, AFMA IRR 1997).

4-H Club of the Philippines National Summit Held for Rural Youth Nationwide

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — Almost 300 youth around the country took part in the recently concluded 4-H Club of the Philippines National Summit organized by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) last October 27-29, 2021.

The Summit aims to abreast all 4-H members with current, and relevant information on opportunities for agriculture and fisheries development, including capacity-building interventions for agricultural development, and sustainability and youth empowerment, which can be accessed by members amidst the new normal.
