ATI’s ‘Agri Asenso’ Hits Airwaves

ATI's 'Agri Asenso' radio program goes on air

DILIMAN, Quezon City—To provide continuous access to information on agriculture and fisheries, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has launched a weekly radio program in partnership with the Manila Broadcasting Company.

Dubbed as “Agri Asenso”, the program aims to raise the awareness and appreciation of the general public, especially those in urbanized areas, towards agriculture. Applicable farming practices, agribusiness ideas, and success stories of Filipino farmers will be featured to help boost the country’s agri-fishery industries.

ATI Marks 34 Years of Leading Agri-fishery Extension

In its 34th year, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) grows further in its mission to empower agriculture and fishery stakeholders through quality training and advisory services as the sector continues to survive, reboot, and grow despite challenges.

With the theme “ATI @ 34 LEADS in Mobilizing & Empowering Partners & Communities Towards One DA”, the Institute underscores its commitment as the lead agency for extension to the key strategies of the Department of Agriculture (DA) in steering agri-fishery growth and transformation this 2021.

TRECE MARTIRES, Cavite—As the global pandemic still “rages on,” Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan underscores his support to the promotion of digital technology among Filipino farmers and fishers.

In his keynote speech during the virtual Techno Gabay Program (TGP) 2020 Summit of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) in CALABARZON, Pangilinan stressed that various technologies already exist that can be used to lower the risks or losses of farmers and, thus, help them earn more.

Outstanding Provinces, Associations Recognized in 2019 Rice Achievers Awards

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Top rice producers in the country were recognized in the 2019 Rice Achievers Awards in a small ceremony held at the Bureau of Soils and Water Management Convention Hall in Quezon City, November 27.

Ten provinces received awards with cash prize worth Php4 million each during the ceremony. Meanwhile, members of 10 National and Communal Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) and six Small Water Irrigation Systems Associations (SWISA) received their awards with cash prize worth Php1 million each.

Vegetarian Awareness Month Showcases Benefits of Plant-based Diet

This October, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) joins the world in celebrating Vegetarian Awareness Month and supports Filipino consumers in exploring plant-based options for diet and nutrition.

Vegetarian Awareness Month is observed in different countries every year, as it kicks off with World Vegetarian Day on October 1 and ends with World Vegan Day on November 1. World Vegetarian Day was founded in 1977 by the North American Vegetarian Society and endorsed by the International Vegetarian Union in 1978.
