ATI Joins ‘Battle for Manila Bay’

MANILA, Philippines—To support environmental protection and strengthen multi-sectoral cooperation, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) participated in the initial cleanup of Manila Bay as part of the ongoing effort for its rehabilitation and preservation, dubbed as the “Battle for Manila Bay”.

The ATI is part of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Inter-Agency Task Force on the rehabilitation efforts for Manila Bay, spearheaded by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Aton Takes Oath of Office as New ATI Director

DILIMAN, Quezon City—The Department of Agriculture (DA) officially welcomes the new director of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Alfredo Aton, as he takes the reigns and steers the bureau in expanding its services nationwide.

In a short ceremony at the DA head office, Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol swore in Aton as the ATI’s Director IV. ATI division chiefs and training center superintendents were present and showed their full support as they witnessed the oath-taking rites.

TienDA Farmers and Fisherfolks Outlet Opens in ATI Grounds

DILIMAN, Quezon City – Shoppers from Metro Manila flocked the stalls of around 90 farmers and agricultural organizations during the two-day “TienDA Farmers and Fisherfolk Outlet” at the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Compound.

Spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture (DA), TienDA features fresh fruits, vegetables, rice, and other agricultural and fishery products from different farms nationwide sold at farm gate prices. This new marketing scheme ensures that farmers’ products can be directly sold to the consumers in urban areas without the intervention of middlemen.
