This include the recently concluded online “Retirement Management Workshop” facilitated by the Human Resource Development Program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in October 19 -22, 2020.

CALOOCAN CITY, Metro Manila – A few months back, there was a looming fear of food insecurity as the spread of novel coronavirus disease posed threats to the country’s food supply chain. Inflation of food prices and volatility of income imply an increasing number of families who have to slash food quantity and quality in their consumption. As such, the Department of Agriculture (DA) intensified its call for communities and households to start their own vegetable garden to ensure available and nutritious food for all, particularly for city dwellers.

RCEF Farm School Owners Trained on Using RCM Advisory Service

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna – Farm School owners under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program and representatives from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist of Laguna and Quezon were trained on Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Advisory Service (RAS).

The “Regional Training of Trainers on Rice Crop Manager (RCM) Advisory Service (RAS)” was intended to create a pool of trainers to handle basic trainings on the use of RCM, including generation of its recommendation.

ATI Region VI Hosts its 1st RCEF TOT Blended Learning Course

BANGA, AKLAN – ATI Region 6 hosts its first batch of flexible learning modality with conduct of Training of Trainers on the Production of High-quality Inbred Rice and Seeds, and Farm Mechanization that runs from September 14-25, 2020. The first phase was conducted via Zoom Platform that focused more on lectures and micro teaching while the second phase was done face-to-face that carried out the hands-on activities held at Dreamer’s Valley Camp & Resort, Buenavista, Tigbauan, Iloilo.

Newly Appointed, Promoted Personnel Take Oath

DILIMAN, Quezon City—Some newly appointed and promoted employees of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Central Office have taken their oath with Director Alfredo Aton in a ceremony held last October 13, 2020.

Three of the promoted personnel are from the Partnerships and Accreditation Division. Rosemarie Dulla, chief of the Extension Development Section and focal person for Corn Program, was promoted as Supervising Agriculturist. Also, Romermart Aubigne Peñamora was promoted as Development Management Officer II and Jomar Tabor was appointed as Agriculturist I.

DA to Promote Rice Varieties Preferred by Consumers

After attaining increased palay production during the 2019-2020 dry season and the current main season, the Department of Agriculture (DA) is now aiming to promote rice varieties preferred by consumers.

“We need to adapt to the changes brought about by the rice tariffication law, one of which is consumers’ preference for quality rice. This is now an integral part of the overall transformation of the country’s rice industry,” said Agriculture Secretary William Dar.

Digital Literacy Continues for Farmers Across Regions

More farmers are taking on the challenge to become future-ready as they participate in the first level of the Digital Farmers Program (DFP), the DFP 101.

After the conduct of the DFP 101 Master Trainers’ Bootcamp in June 2020, the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI) network of training centers resumed to reaching more farmers and youth towards creating a digitally enabled farming environment.

DILIMAN, Quezon City—For the second year in a row, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) has been certified as “fully compliant” to the enhanced Freedom of Information (FOI) requirements set by the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Harmonization of National Government Performance Monitoring Information, and Reporting Systems, also known as Task Force Administrative Order 25, s. 2011.
