March Honors Women as Catalysts for Change

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) joins the nation in honoring every Juana this whole month of March in celebration of the 2021 National Women’s Month.

This year’s celebration will serve as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in the society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. It also aims to give an avenue to discuss and address the issues that women continue to face, so that empowerment can be fully achieved.

Call to Support Local Produce, Farmers Headlines NRAM 2020

The celebration of NRAM for this year follows up last year’s campaign, this time underscoring not only marketing and consumption, but also the production of local rice. It encourages various rice stakeholders to support Filipino farmers especially in buying their harvests at a reasonable price; and the rice-consuming public to patronize locally produced rice.

Soil Conservation Month Calls for Effective, Responsible Action

To show our country's support to the awareness campaign and advocacy efforts against land degradation, the “Soil Conservation Month” was formulated and is now observed every June.

Created through the Department Order No. 2 series of 1997 by former Agriculture Secretary Salvador Escudero and Administrative Order No. 16 series of 2007 issued by the former Agriculture Secretary Arthur C. Yap, this event promotes the importance of soil and water conservation management in attaining food security for the Filipino people.

Drought Day Observance Underlines Positive, Better Attitude

The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) is one with the United Nations in the celebration of the 2020 Desertification and Drought Day.

This year's observance focuses on changing public attitudes towards the leading driver of desertification and land degradation: humanity’s relentless production and consumption.

As populations become larger, wealthier, and more urban, the demand for land to provide food, animal feeds, and fiber for clothing grows larger. Meanwhile, the health and productivity of existing arable land is declining, worsened by climate change.
