To update the Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) on Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) extension activities, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MiMaRoPa conducted a “Capability Enhancement for AEWs: Updates on RCEF Extension Activities” on May 3-6, 2022, at Jopat’s Hotel and Restaurant, Bongabong Oriental Mindoro.
The training started with a message from Mr. Jay-ar B. Madriaga, Agriculturist II/Rice Point Person. Mr. Madriaga encouraged all the participants to become active and participative the whole duration of the training.
Mr. Madriaga, Project Development Assistant II Ms. Joane U. Caringal, and Training Specialist II, Ms. Marilyn G. Gonda served as the Resource Speakers of the said training.
The topics about Overview of Palay Check System; Rice Morphology and Growth Stages of Rice Plant; Key Check 1-9; Farm Planning and Budgeting; Financial Planning; Farm Record-keeping; Cash Flow; Fertilizer Computation; and Four (4) Components of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program were discussed during the three-day training.
Ms. Jane C. Siscar, Agricultural Technologist of Calapan City shared “Maraming salamat sa mga taga ATI marami po akong natutunan at naupdate po ako sa mga program ngayon na maiimplement po. Natutunan ko rin po ang palay check system at ang mga management para po sa rice production. Sa mga resource speaker po ay nagpapasalamatrin po ako sa pagbabahagi nila ng kaalaman.”
The participants also prepared a farm budgeting plan as their final output.
The said training was attended by 23 AEWs from different municipalities in Oriental Mindoro.
