Geared for strengthened Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Network (AFEN) in Occidental Mindoro, Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center MiMaRoPa spearheaded the Consultation Meeting cum Organizational Strengthening for Occidental Mindoro Provincial AFEN.
The said meeting served as an avenue to address the issues and concerns regarding the implementation of AFEN in the province. Moreover, through the activities, members of AFEN such as ATI MiMaRoPa, National Irrigation Administration, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) and Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg) presented their accomplishments for FY 2019 as well as targets for FY 2020. They also presented the proposed extension activities for FY 2021.
Highlight of the activity was the crafting of action plans wherein the participants were grouped into four according to their affiliation such as Local Government Units, Farmers Associations and Learning Site Cooperators, National Government Agencies and State Universities and Colleges. The action plans evolved in the targets for FY 2021 where they can converge to have harmonized extension activities. They also had commitment signing after the action planning to ink their convergence towards strengthened AFEN in the province.
Moreover, during the PAFEN, they also agreed that the next AFEN will be hosted by OMSC and will be conducted for two days covering the meeting and capability enhancement for AFEN members.
The Provincial AFEN meeting was held on February 20, 2020 at Aroma Hotel and Resort, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
