SIKAP Now on its Last Phase of ICS

After completing the Phases I and II of the Internal Control System (ICS), SIKAP Agriculture Cooperative has undergone Phase III of ICS. It is the last phase in order for the smallholder group to qualify for the installation and eventual certification of Organic Agriculture.

The 5-day training of Internal Control System for Smallholder Groups Phase III was participated by 28 members of SIKAP Agriculture Cooperative. All members from production up to the processing were invited to attend the said training.

During the training, Organization and Personnel for ICS as well as their obligation and responsibilities were tackled. Qualifications and duties of Internal Approval Committee and Quality Control Manager were made clear.

Additionally, the SIKAP Organizational Structure was formed including the personnel needed in each position. Activities during the training include discussion, farm inspection and evaluation. Participants together with the Quality Control Manager, Internal Inspector and Approval Officer conducted farm inspection to evaluate if the coco sap was organically produced.

Also, the participants were trained on the processing of documents needed for third-party certification and were informed about the requirements needed for it. After the training, action plan was furnished and was submitted to the Quality Control Manager of SIKAP.

Said activity was conducted on June 4-8, 2018 at Brgy. Bicas, Buenavista, Marinduque.
