To ensure harmonization in the implementation of corn program in the region, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center MiMaRoPa spearheaded the Regional Corn Congress themed “Addressing the Needs, Developing Innovation: Beyond all Limits” on July 25 - 26, 2017 at ATI, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

During the congress, Jayson N. Erondo, Corn Focal Person presented the extension activities, plans and programs for 2018. Along his presentation, representatives from different agencies signified their support and willingness to conduct such activities. Thus, all extension activities were all well-distributed to each province.

Further, those trainings that cannot be funded by ATI-RTC MiMaRoPa were accommodated by DA-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) MiMaRoPa.

Aside from the plans and programs, the participants also raised their issues and concerns regarding the implementation of the project in their respective provinces.

At the end, representatives from different sectors such as corn farmer leaders, State College and Universities, DA-RFO, Provincial and Municipal Agriculturists from MiMaRoPa united for one goal - to have a smooth and harmonized implementation of programs towards a sustainable corn production.
