To engage all partners in the implementation of School-on-the-Air on Organic Agriculture (SOA-OA) in the province of Occidental Mindoro, the ATI in MiMaRoPa through the Information Services Section conducted a collaborative meeting on June 15, 2022, at Municipal Agriculture Office, Brgy. Poblacion, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro.
As part of the initiatives of the Department of Agriculture to prevent African Swine Fever (ASF) at the barangay level, it has strengthened the implementation of Bantay ASF sa Barangay Program (BABay ASF) through disease surveillance and monitoring, disease reporting, disease investigation, disease response, the implementation of biosecurity protocols, zoning, recovery and repopulation.
A total of 2,540 farmers, agricultural extension workers, and agri-enthusiasts from the municipalities of Pola, Socorro, Victoria, Naujan, Baco, San Teodoro, Puerto Galera, and Calapan City graduated from the School-on-the-Air on Smart Rice Agriculture on June 9, 2022, at the ATI-RTC MiMaRoPa, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
With the approval of RA 11511 otherwise known as an Act Amending the Organic Agriculture Act of 2010 (RA 10068), the Agricultural Training Institute in MIMAROPA through the Organic Agriculture Program has conducted Training of Trainers on Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) on Organic Implementers and Identified PGS Organizations on May 26-June 08, 2022 at Dos Four Dos Farm, Aborlan, Palawan.
OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – A total of 40 Barangay Biosecurity Officers (BBOs) were equipped with the necessary skills during the last two batches of Training on Specimen Collection at Brgy. Buenavista, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro and Brgy. Poblacion, Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro on June 6-7, 2022; and June 9-10, 2022, respectively.
