SABLAYAN, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO— Participated by 60 participants coming from staff of Farmer’s Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers, Magsasakang Siyentista and Partner-Member Agencies from MiMaRoPa, the ATI MiMaRoPa spearheaded the 3rd Techno Gabay Program Summit on October 15-19, 2018 at Adventure Camp Beach and Resort, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro.
This year, TGP was themed “Together We Can Make a Change”, addressing the issue of climate change as the present thrust of the government.
Erlan Pasana, TGP Focal Person said that the FITS Centers as major component of TGP and nearest community information hub to clients and the Magsasakang Siyentista themselves are the best network of the institution to provide and relay information about climate change to farmers and fisher folks.
Moreover, aside from capacitating FITS, PMA and MS in climate change, TGP Summit also served as an avenue to assess FITS’ performance and thresh out issues and concerns regarding the operation of the FITS as well as determine trainings and other needs of FITS staff and MSs. Additionally, some selected MS were awarded of ICT tools under the Climate Information System to better provide quality services, particularly in climate change to our stakeholders.
Lastly, as part of the annual activity of the TGP, team building was conducted to strengthen the camaraderie and boost the confidence of TGP stakeholders.
