The Training on Edible Landscaping: “Combining Beauty with Bounty” was conducted last May 22-24, 2018 at Gasan, Marinduque. This was participated by 31 AEWs, farmers and other agriculture enthusiast.
Participants of this training learned the concept of edible landscaping and its different features. They also learned the combination of planting materials that will beautifully go together to become more vibrant and attractive.
Moreover, the actual construction of an edible garden at the learning site owned by Mr. Derwin Sace – a Magsasakang Siyentista gave the participants more ideas on what they could do/integrate in a landscape design. They also learned the role of each crop used in designing the landscape.
At the end of the three-day activity, the participants were able to come up with a farm lay-out showcasing an edible landscape design.
The training aims to produce safe, readily available nutritious foods for the family and community while creating an attractive and functional edible landscape.
