To eliminate or lessen the plastic pollution, the Agricultural Training Institute conducted a 3-day Training on Eco Bricks: A Solution to Pollution on June 25 – 27, 2018 at ATI, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

Ecobricking is a deep solution for plastic pollution. It is a bottle packed solid with used plastic to make a re-useable building block. This technology was used in different countries in addressing their plastic pollution and became a worldwide campaign of different non-government agencies and local government’s agencies.

During the training, each participant brought clean plastic bottles and wrappers which were utilized in their workshop activities. The participants were taught of the proper way of ecobricking. They also learned that items such as furniture, decorations and even a house could be made out of ecobricks. Also, participants were informed about the R.A 9003 of Solid Waste Management as well as the big contribution of the Philippines in plastic pollution.
They also prepared training modules to be used in their planned trainings and re-echoing of the technology in their locality.

At the end of the training, the participants said that they now know to utilize such waste materials into valuable ones.
