Saving a Life: Basic Life Support

To ensure that government employees of ATI and other DA attached agencies are trained with necessary knowledge and basic life support techniques to respond to health emergencies, the Agricultural Training Institute – MiMaRoPa conducted a Training on Basic Life Support on August 24-25, 2017 at ATI Compound, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

The training through the Philippine National Red Cross taught the participants to adapt to emergency situations and perform techniques in saving lives such as bandaging, carrying and transferring of patients. They also learned how and when to apply CPR and rescue breathing.

As part of the training, simulation activity was conducted wherein participants had to rescue survivors of a vehicular accident.

At the end of the training, the participants also realized the readiness during disasters and calamities and benefits of having a first aid kit in their offices.

A total of 40 participants attended the training.
