ATI in MiMaRoPa Trains AEWs on Pests and Diseases of Mango

The Agricultural Training Institute in MiMaRoPa conducted Training of Trainers on Pests and Diseases for Mango on May 24-27, 2022, at Haliwood Inn Hotel, Brgy. Ligaya, Odiongan, Romblon.

A total of 29 Agricultural Extension Workers and Farmer Leaders from the province attended the training and learned the new technologies and best practices in pest management of mango.

Highlights of the four-day training include lecture discussions and hands-on activities on insect and disease collection and identification. Also, the participants performed actual inspection activities on one of the mango farms at Brgy. Anahao, Odiongan, Romblon. Their observations were reported during their workshop sessions.

Moreover, the collected samples of insects and diseases as well as the consolidated observations of the participants were forwarded to the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist of Odiongan for proper identification and appropriate action.

At the end of the training, the participants prepared a re-entry plan which will be subjected to monitoring after six (6) months as their final output.
