Planning the Key Priorities: Provincial Consultation Workshop Under the Rice Program

To assess the performance of the training with the local government units as well as formulate strategic plans for the extension services for the year 2022, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MiMaRoPa conducted three (3) batches of consultation workshops in Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro; Alcantara, Romblon; and Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro on April 8, 2022; April 22, 2022; and May 2, 2022, respectively.

The one-day activity aims to solicit training proposals and other extension activities from the stakeholders to ensure harmonized implementation of extension programs as well as come up with synchronized plans that will address the farmer’s needs.

During the activity, Mr. Jay-ar B. Madriaga, Agriculturist II/Rice Point Person presented the line-up of scheduled training for 2022 including the target programs, projects, and other extension activities for 2023.

In the planning workshop, the participants were able to prepare a re-entry plan for 2023-2024 and committed to support the training and other extension activities of the ATI-MiMaRoPa. They were hopeful that the identified extension activities for the next two years will materialize and more training will be conducted particularly for the newly hired Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs).

Present in the activity were Supervising Agriculturist Alriza C. Zubiri, Municipal Agriculturist of MAO-Sablayan Reynaldo A. Factor, Municipal Agriculturist of MAO-Alcantara Mario Galisanao and Municipal Agriculturist of MAO-Bongabong Mr. Mr. Gary Louie A. Sapinit.

Mr. Domingo Galindez, Agricultural Extension Worker of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro shared, “Maraming salamat po sa Training Management Team na nag-assist sa amin para sa one-day activity na ito. Maganda na nagkaroon ng ganitong aktibidad para matulungan bawat munisipyo kung ano ang pangangailangan namin na activities o trainings”.

A total of 56 representatives from the different local government units in the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and Oriental Mindoro participated in the said activity.
