MAMBURAO, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – 31 Local Farmer Technicians (LFT) in the different municipalities in the province of Occidental Mindoro joined in the 4-day training entitled “Capability Enhancement for Local Farmer Technicians: Updates on RCEF Extension Activities” held at Marus Beach Front, Brgy. Payompon, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro on March 29 – April 1, 2022.

The 3-day activity started with a message from Mr. Frederick A. Villanada, DA-RFO- Coordinator. In his message, he expressed his gratitude to all facilitators of the training. He is very thankful to the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MiMaRoPa for the opportunity to refresh LFT’s knowledge on rice production.

The training covered topics on Farm Planning and Budgeting; Financial Planning; Farm Record-keeping; Cash Flow; Fertilizer Computation; and Four (4) Components of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program.

Mr. Jay-ar B. Madriaga, Agriculturist II/Rice Point Person of ATI in MiMaRoPa also served as Resource Speaker. Mr. Madriaga discussed the Palay Check System, particularly the nine (9) Key Checks.

"Marami pong salamat sa libreng pagsasanay at na refresh ang aking kaalaman tungkol sa pagpapalayan. Last 2019 pa ang huli kung training at maraming salamat sa ATI at na-update ako tungkol sa mga programa ng RCEF,” Ms. Violeta M. Alcantara, LFT of Sta. Cruz said.

On the last day, the participants prepared the farm budgeting plan as their final output.
