ATI in MiMaRoPa Raises Mental Health Awareness to its Staff

ORIENTAL MINDORO – The ATI-MiMaRoPa staff took part in the three-day training entitled “Mental Health Awareness: A Way Through a Healthy Well-being and Work Environment” on February 21-23, 2022 at Iraya Farm and Resort, Tambong, Gloria, Oriental Mindoro.

The said training aimed to provide the participants awareness on mental health and obtain the skills and knowledge to help them understand and better manage their emotions and potential mental health problems.

Resource Speaker Ms. Ferry Irish May H. Santiago, Local Government Operations Officer II of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, imparted her knowledge and learnings to the participants the practical ways on how to deal with stress and anger, resolve conflicts with co-workers, interpret non-verbal communication, deal with people with potential health problems, and enhance interpersonal relationship within the workplace.

Also, the training involved physical activities during the workshop which create a positive environment for the participants. Moreover, the participants underwent psychological assessment 15 days after the training using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) to evaluate the impact of training on their current mental health condition.

"The training helps me to become aware of my mental health. I learned to understand the factors affecting my mental health such as personality and social factors. The training provided me the ways to manage stress and anger. In addition, it helps me to look on the bright side of life. I learned to appreciate things and the people around me”, Ms. Haydee B. Bonsol shared.
A total of 21 participants from the different sections and units of ATI-MiMaRoPa attended the said training.
