NAUJAN, ORIENTAL MINDORO – Twenty (20) participants composed of farmers and agri-enthusiasts from the Municipalities of Bansud, Naujan, and City of Calapan passed as “Competent” on Organic Agriculture (OA) Production (National Certificate II) after the three (3) days skills competency assessment on February 5-7, 2022, at the Agricultural Training Institute in MiMaRoPa, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

The participants were trained on the four (4) competencies for OA from September 20, 2021 - October 29, 2021. During the training, the topics about raising organic chicken, producing organic vegetables, producing organic fertilizer, and producing organic concoctions and extracts were thoroughly discussed and demonstrated by the Trainer/Assistant Center Director Ruben P. Jugno.

“The assessment in Organic Agriculture is a challenging yet fulfilling experience. We gained more knowledge during the training. Totoong ang pagkakatuto ay nasusukat kung paano iaapply ang mga bagay na natutunan. Hindi sapat ang nabasa o narinig, ang mahalaga ay kung paano isasagawa ang mga bagay na ito. I am motivated to become a productive farmer and entrepreneur. Truly, there is bountiful blessings in Agriculture”, Ms. Ceila E. Batoon shared.
In partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Ms. Lotis A. Lopez, from the Managpi National High School, served as an Assessor during the activity.

Out of 23 participants, only 20 of them passed the NC II competency assessment. On the other hand, one (1) participant received a Certificate of Competency on Raising Organic Chicken while the other two (2) failed in the said assessment.
