After completing the Phases I and II of the Internal Control System (ICS), SIKAP Agriculture Cooperative has undergone Phase III of ICS. It is the last phase in order for the smallholder group to qualify for the installation and eventual certification of Organic Agriculture.
Being in the twilight of their lives, the Senior Citizens still need to optimize their potentials and access all available services and opportunities and be able to address their day to day challenges. One of its means is supporting them to engage in a worthwhile activity which can also augment their income such as meat processing.
To strengthen and nourish the implementation of Organic Agriculture Act in the Philippines and provide quality extension services beyond boundaries, the Center in collaboration with ATI-RTC Region VIII conducted “Agriculture Knowledge Inputs Technology Sharing (KITS)” last May 24-25, 2018.
Aiming to build the capabilities and skills of farmers in farm mechanization and to raise the level of awareness and adaptability in farm machineries the Training Course on Agricultural and Fishery Mechanization for Farmer Leaders: “Kakayahan ng Magsasaka’y Linangin, Mekanisasyon ng Agrikultura’y Palaganapin” was conducted last May 16-19, 2018.
The Training on Edible Landscaping: “Combining Beauty with Bounty” was conducted last May 22-24, 2018 at Gasan, Marinduque. This was participated by 31 AEWs, farmers and other agriculture enthusiast.
The EMPOWER Youth Agriprenuership and Livelihood Summit was conducted at Integrated Learning Site and 4-H Camp, Barangay Labonan, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro on May 8-11, 2018 participated by 71 Youth Leaders from Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Cavite, Capiz, NCR, Iloilo, Marinduque, Aklan, Batangas, Bataan and Pangasinan.
Last May 17-19, 2018 the Training Course on Health and Wellness for Senior Citizens was conducted at A & A Beach Resort, Restaurant and Catering Services, Barangay Laylay, Boac, Marinduque. Twenty-nine Senior Citizens from the municipality of Boac, Mogpog and Gasan actively participated in the training.
To promote the ICT-based in Rice and Agriculture and introduce new technologies in Hybrid Rice Production, ATI MIMAROPA conducted the Knowledge Sharing and Learning (KSL) on April 23, 2018 at Janiva’s Farm, Malinao, Narra, Palawan with 22 farmer participants from the municipality of Narra. This is in response to DA’s thrust to improve rice production through the use of hybrid rice.
ORIENTAL MINDORO - Pushing for a vibrant tourism activities in the province, ATI MiMaRoPa had its jumpstart to strengthen the emerging and developing farm destinations thru its Training on Farm Tourism on April 10 – 12, 2018.
