OIC-Provincial Agriculturist Alvin Aclan delivers his welcome message during the Provincial Consultation for F.Y. 2020 Program Implementation and FY 2021 Agri-Fishery Needs Planning Workshop.
LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – To determine the needed training among stakeholders and to harmonize programs among extension service providers under the Department of Agriculture (DA), the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 13 conducted the Provincial Consultation for FY 2020 Program Implementation and FY 2021 Agri-Fishery Needs Planning Workshop on July 9, 2019.
This was participated with the Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) specifically the Focal Persons of the commodity programs from the City and Municipal Agriculture Offices of Agusan del Norte.
In his message, OIC-Provincial Agriculturist Alvin Aclan emphasized the vision and mission of the province. “Our activity is timely because we have our new leaders, we should have a concrete database system in terms of agriculture”. Aclan hoped that their outputs will be aligned to the programs of the province for a smooth implementation.
Moreover, Nena Lomuntad, Planning Officer II of ATI presented the overview of the activity. Next year’s target of trainings and activities of the commodity programs such as Organic Agriculture, High Value Crops, Rice, Corn and Livestock were presented by the Focal Persons from ATI-RTC 13. Workshop and Open forum followed right after the presentations.
The ATI was designated as an apex agency for a unified and efficient extension system of the DA as reflected in the Republic Act 8435 also known as AFMA of 1995. In here, the Institute will take the lead role in the implementation of extension programs to ensure that extension services achieve optimum results.
The said consultation workshop served as an avenue for a coherent extension strategy that is socially inclusive and highly participative. This was held at the ATI-RTC 13 Training Hall, Los Angeles, Butuan City.
