ATI-Caraga to launch FITS Center in Madrid, Surigao del Sur

The Regional Technical Working Committee of Techno Gabay Program interviewed Mr. Magno Sarim, one of the Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) nominees in Madrid, SDS FITS center on June 6, 2019.

MADRID, Surigao del Sur- The members of Regional Technical Working Committee (RTWC) of the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) conducted an evaluation of the proposed Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in Madrid, Surigao del Sur on June 6, 2019.

The RTWC comprised representatives and Focal Persons from different Partner-Agencies of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13. These are the Caraga State University (CSU),

Commission on Higher Education (CHED) 13, Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) 13.

Fil Victor Babanto, Info. Officer III of ATI-Caraga led in the evaluation of the said FITS Center in Madrid, SDS. The group evaluated based on the needed requirements as reflected in the Implementing Rules and
Regulations (IRR) of the Executive Order (EO) 801 of the TGP.

Staff from the Municipal Agriculture Office of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Madrid answered all the possible questions raised by the Evaluators such as the availability of internet connection, organizational structure, computer set, billboards and so on and so forth. LGU staff ensure that the four components of the TGP such as the MS, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials to be put up inside and outside the FITS center are well prepared.

On the other hand, the RTWC also interviewed the farmer-nominees for Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) in the said FITS center. Mr. Magno Sarim in Brgy Patong-Patong and Mr. Teofilo Role in Brgy. Linibuan, Madrid, SDS were evaluated of who will be the qualified one to be an MS based on the criteria set

After the deliberation, the group unanimously agreed to endorse the LGU-Madrid, SDS FITS center to the ATI-Central Office along with the qualified MS.
