ESPERANZA, Agusan del Sur – Emphasizing the value of bees in agriculture especially in producing honey as an additional income, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Institute (ATI-RTC) 13 conducted a Training on Beekeeping on May 20-24, 2019.
There were 30 participants composed of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and farmers from the different municipalities of Agusan del Sur joined in.
The five-day activity include a series of lectures and hands-on demonstration in cooperation with Mr. Jason Dave Manug, Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) cooperator and owner of Happy Bee Farm, who served as resource person together with Mr. Allan Cordova.
“This training taught us that bees are not enemies but are beneficial insects to plants and humans. We can also gain health benefits from the honey they produce,” said Rebecca G. Catanco, farmer participant.
