Armando Valiente, Provincial Agriculturist of Agusan del Sur, emphasizes challenges in the agricultural sector in the province, and this SOA program on cassava production will help the farmers to produce more.
PATIN-AY, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – "It is the goal of the Provincial Agriculture and Veterinary Office (PAVO) to help our farmers increase their productivity and income. Let us strive to bring success to our farmers at the end of the day," says Mr. Armando Valiente, Provincial Agriculturist of Agusan del Sur. It is during the conduct of the School on-the-Air (SOA) program on cassava production briefing last April 4, 2019.
The activity was spearheaded by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 in partnership with PAVO and 10 Municipal Agriculture Offices (MAOs). The overview of the 4-month program was presented and target setting was done. Finalization of module, resource persons, preferred station were also discussed. Farmers, students, and other agri-enthusiasts could enroll and join the program.
This SOA program aims to intensify the promotion of cassava production through the use of radio. Further, it hopes to address problems and information needs in producing cassava.
